The Mountain Film Festival is an awards-based, non-traditional film festival consisting of a formal Awards Ceremony and Filmmakers Dinner as well as other festival related ski-outings and networking activities. Films are not screened at the event.
Mountain Film Festival reserves the right to make any necessary changes in regulations or scheduling.
Awards will be presented to the best film in each of the main competitive categories including the Screenplay Competition and Special Jury prizes during the annual Mountain Film Festival Awards Ceremony and Dinner. Screenplay prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and 10 Official Finalists.
Submissions must include the completed Entry Form and a DVD, CD-ROM, or VHS copy of the film, sent by mail. For the submission process we prefer to screen films on DVD.
Films submitted to the Festival are reviewed by our programming department, which evaluates each film, looking for the best in new American and International cinema.
For the submission process, we can screen DVDs (Region 0 or 1), VHS (NTSC) tapes, or mini-DV tapes.
For films in a language other than English, the Festival requires English subtitles.
Awards will be announced publicly on February 25th, 2011. An official press release will also be distributed to various media outlets. Winning films are encouraged to promote and mention their award as well as the Mountain Film Festival in all promotional materials.
The Mountain Film Festival reserves the right to show brief clips of awarded films at its annual Awards Ceremony and Dinner. Awarded films will otherwise not be screened for the public.
By participating in the Mountain Film Festival you expressly agree to all Rules and Regulations.
